Home Sweet Home Poem by Raj Arumugam

Home Sweet Home

Here too home is not a simple thing.
You must be mindful of location:
if your home is at a cul-de-sac,
and diverse things as where the sun rises,
if there is foliage and how far it is to the highway
and what about accessibility to a host of facilities;
and is the estate near a cement factory?
Then there are things like negative gearing and
rising interest rates; body corporate fees and council rates;
inspectors and valuers you can count on
and you must be mindful too of resale value.
O no, the modern home all over the world
is not a simple thing to live in;
you could die in it.
