Michael Peterson (Janesville, Wisconsin)
Homeless Spiral
Where did start, where did I fall
had a job, striving for all
started a family, gotta home
the stress of it all, may caused the fall
first corperate outings, family gathering
the drinks were good, made me comortable
a few here and there
I thought i could control, spiral down
got nasty at home, she did understand
pay the bills, create new bills
the world was crashing
lost my job, more to drink
to old they told me
what was months turn to years
family gone, house has too
now to the streets
bummin money
from bar to bar
from street to street
where to sleep
bench to bridge
all alone, need some help
aging fast, can't last
where will I be, what happened to me
where did I fall, stop me all
this night is cold and I am to old
give me warm, give me life
pull me out, what a bout
a tree tonite, maybe a good night sleep
for brand new start
