Gods felt nervous
To see man emerge
From the slime
Evolving through beasts
To Homo Sapiens
With power to think and create
They made a pretence
Of loving him but were jealous
And let loose chaos upon him
To put him down and destroy
But man defied them all
And grew and grew
Till he began to look them
In the eye and they to retreat
