Honey In The Sunshine Poem by Harlequin Rose

Honey In The Sunshine

Rating: 5.0

She's an Aquarius
and arrogance just doesn't seem her style
but she lives out loud
and in vivid technicolor
her name is Honey
eyes golden like the sun
skin the color of sun warmed sand
and in her features
is a face reflective of the Motherland
for she is Creole
a descendant of
Le gens de couleur libre
the Free People of Color
French Quarter Cajun
Carribean born Haitian
Voodoo child
they call her
Honey in the Sunshine
but she was born
Merrique Marie LaCouer
sun kissed
and unexplainably beautiful
she is tragic
and easily bruised
she's soft to the touch
its who she is
its what she does
she is a song
unsung
she is a love poem come undone
cover her face
mine eyes dazzle
she died young...
