Honor Poem by J.B. LeBuert

Honor

There is no honor among thieves.
There is no honor among liars.
I don't care what anyone believes,
They're not something to which one aspires.

Honor is not a simple trait.
Honor is not something you can buy.
Honor is not a twist of fate.
Honor is not something you can try.

Honor is something that you can learn.
Honor and integrity go hand in hand.
Honor is something that you can earn.
Honor and honesty are both free and grand.

A person of honor is is not easy to find;
If you know such a person, you are rare.
It is a virtue of the highest kind.
Nobody has any honor to spare.

Would you honor me with this dance?
Do you honor your father and mother?
Would you know honor, at first glance?
Do you honor the memory, of your brother?

It's not easy to spot a dishonorable man.
It's worth the trouble to train your mind.
You can find honor if you have a good plan.
Remember that grace and honor are two of a kind.

If you find honor in the people you love,
You can find honor in your daily deeds.
It's truly a gift from God above,
Because She has blessed you, and your needs.
