Hope Poem by Sadashivan Nair

Hope

When sorrow clenches me,
Heart shrinks and soul melts;
I feel like a destitute man;
'Hope' a melodious vowel,
With savoury nectar,
Perches inside soul;
Rises to wet me,
In its promising liniment;
Solaces me, wipes my tears,
Hugs me till I feel serene;
Says in gesturing intimacy,
"There is life beyond the rue,
'The hope' is always thine,
Never lose,
Shalt always serve thou,
In thine pain and joy";
