Hope Lingers Yet Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Hope Lingers Yet

Teardrops fell within an instant
After their sudden 'goodbye'.
How could they really mean the words
That made two young hearts cry?

She tried to keep her distance
As unhappy days drifted by...
If he would send a sweet bouquet
Back home to him she'd fly.

There lingered a secret longing
For love to find a way,
So joyful hearts could be together
immersed in love forever and a day.

NOW - it only took him an instant
To cross his heart and say:
'Forget the past, I'm here at last
With my gift of a floral bouquet'.
