Hope Reborn



When hope stumbles, the pain is deep
though cry one may not hear, nor mark the tear
but something inward gasps for breath,
may even be mistaken for a kind of death.

When hope crumbles into pieces on the floor
and life is blocked by locked and bolted door,
then all seems lost and yet we know that somehow
hope revives in those who seeds of love do sow.

When hope holds on, no matter what life brings
and loving words, fill the songs our heart sings
then hope renews itself with greater power
that moistens life, like fertile rain, in gentle shower.

When people rise again from fallen state
and transform into love, their fears of hate,
then hope matures and walks with regal tone;
scars become a sign of love, that’s strong as stone,
