House Of Living Stone Poem by Michael P. Johnson

House Of Living Stone

Of humble mud was Adam made
Through sin his flesh though soon would fade
He disobeyed his Father’s law
God’s fellowship; he’d taste no more

God’s word reveals His hidden will
A Stone He'd lay on Zion hill
Upon this Stone, His house will stand
Thus spoke the Lord with upheld hand

The Lord will build His house of life
Through peace through love for Jesus’ wife
The Corner Stone has long been laid
The price though high, God freely paid

God’s precious Stone stands now erect
The very Stone that most reject
The Stone of truth, of living flame
The Rock that bears God’s holy name

Before creation, Jesus planned
No stone man made, would come to stand
His word stands true it cannot fall
The builder’s power does it all

God’s house of stone on Zion mount
It’s total rooms no man can count
Not all; will come to dwell therein
But only those, Christ frees of sin

Who come to Christ are flesh and bone
But God makes each a living stone
Through Jesus’ Flame, seven times tried
Must each stone pass to be His bride

Eternity; through Christ the Door
God’s temple stands a tent no more
Wandering days through faith have gone
Firmly built on God’s true Son.
