House Of White Poem by Elise Colon

House Of White

My neighbor's home is magnificent and white.
I loved this house as if it were my own.
Fun, laughter, good old times...
is what I experienced there all the time.
My neighbors were the best and always
stood out among the rest.
Kind, sweet, innocent, caring
What more could I ask for?
I approach the white house as I do everyday
with a big smiling grin upon my face.
The sky above, a baby blue along with fluffy white clouds that look brand new.
Perfect day, perfect day
What more can I say?
I'm almost there, I'm almost there
I hear a noise...a thunderous boom.
A gunshot! From somewhere inside!
My heart sinks low, I start to tremble.
I see the clouds, first fluffy and white
are now the color of a dark stormy night.
Someone had been murdered in this house of white.
How could this be?
This house of white was now...always dark inside?
Anger, frustration, and sadness filled my mind.
How could I have been so blind?
Something evil had always lurked inside...
hidden from my naked eye
