Houses Of Glad Kisses Poem by Robert Rorabeck

Houses Of Glad Kisses

Houses of glad kisses strung out
Perpetually through the forest—
Greatly seeding the lost paths of vanishing children—
Here, they can find one last story for them—
While the sky is a vermillion avenue too well
Above them—
Strange chandeliers are hung amidst the vanished
Airplanes—
Everything soft has evaporated,
Even the stewardesses are floating by themselves
Above the classrooms—
And they send down their love once or twice
In a playful manner, like free tickers,
For the boys whose last kisses
Will be presented to them
By the grinning trysts of the protected wolves.
