How

How do you say goodbye to someone
when you do not want them to leave?
How do you let go of someone
even if you know that'll set them free?

How can you say goodbye to someone
when it means they're leaving for good?
How can you let go of someone
when you don't believe you ever could?

My advice is not to say goodbye
as if they're leaving forever,
but whisper when they close their eyes,
'One day we'll again be together.'

Loved the way you released your heartfelt emotions so smoothly in this poem. Very well done!
The last line is really touchy! (Report) Reply

To season my fireside with personal talk.--
Of friends, who live within an easy walk,
Or neighbours, daily, weekly, in my sight:
