How Can I? ; A Question From Within Poem by Kinyua Karanja

How Can I? ; A Question From Within

I shall fear not to love
Nor regret to have loved
For God made her a dove
Free to fly and at will to land
How could I betray this noble call
Nor morn for such selfless duty
Only truly taken at will by all
Who value the welfare of humanity.
How can I regret such a Godly act
How can I morn imitating our God
Who said He is love and light
How can I regret to have walked in light
And ashame the father of light
How can I regret to be truthful
And betray my Lord, Christ
how can I retract all the beautiful
Words that I once said were the best
And still I know they remain the same
How, how on earth can I do such things
How can I forget her name
That I once held dear among things
How can I do it without a risk
of betraying my clear conscious?
