How ''Ice-Is'' Made From Flesh & Blood...

Seven Seals of Soldiers

Soldiers in backward march,
examining the whereabouts
it will all take place;
feeling weight of the albatross,
prelude to the final war,
yearning the onset of discharge,
counting their comrads, one by one
realizing one in ten will die
before the very next twilight.

They are the ones who commit to justice,
freedom, peace...liberty,
at any cost or consequence
to their own personal welfare.
For their cause is one
more powerful than
they, themselves, even though-
they are the ones who take all risks,
and validate this cause.

Leading Us Nowhere Safe

Religion, ethnicity, culture, or gender
cannot evaluate human value,
nor can rationale for terror be-
deemed 'holy', in the name of any God.
The mere phrase, 'Holy War', is a sick oxymoron-
a masque for cold-blooded genocide.

There are answers for they who wreak hate,
all nations must rise in flanked unison
and believe-that this hell bound anathema
may carry the strangest of silver linings,
despite all the blood that's been poured-
between each and other for too many years.

And that silver will turn to gold
if the worlds nations agree to break bread
for this one common cause...,
seize it, embrace it, carpe diem!
The alternative? Guaranteed Life,
our Worlds' perdition, and silence;
Make no mistake, it will happen...
if our leaders vision harbor in tunnels,
stagnant, hoping it allgoes away,
like some kind of Don Qixote,
fiction, fantasy, Walt Disney psyche

To lead, to protect, think out-of-the-box,
not to cowar from what may not seem
politically correct amongst interests called special,
especially when WE, The People-
are paying their salaries in spades!

Epilogue/Post-Mortem?

[A R M A G E D D O N]

From the single word above
the below words were made
in scrambling the letters,
placing them in a sequence
that arguably be construed
as a message or warning?
or perhaps just a bad poem?
I'm just the guy who images.

Ogre
Mad
Men
Are
Armed,
And
Raged,
On
Omen
Damned
Demon
god...
And
Man
Do
Dread
A
Dead
End.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Seamus O Brian 19 October 2016

A vital subject. The topic of war as addressed by artists at times under-represents the necessity of force in the face of forceful evil. Sometimes evil must be met blow by blow. Strong work, good writer. Bravo.
