How Long Can We Treat Inmates Thıs Way?

Not taking them outside to see the light of day?
Making them so hardened down to their soul
making their hearts turn frozen cold.

How long can we keep treating inmates this way?
We as humans should see jail treatment very demeaning
not like “We do this in here for they might get free”
No this is more like slavery.
Making inmates wear chains around above their feet
giving them grey, not nutritious food to eat.
Making everyone see them in the shower
stripping away all their inner power.
How long can we keep treating inmates this way?
When inside they don’t see the light of day?

A silly sheep benighted from the fold,
A sluggard with a thorn-choked garden plot.
