How Many? Poem by Billy Henderson

How Many?

17.04.20.
1. So yes, let's think about tomorrow, lest this war we all ignore, For religion flies out the window, aye and reason out the door;No gods, and damned few heroes, that's forbye the NHS,‘Cause the folks in power ‘til this very hour can't save us from this mess.

2. Oh nature's laws are boundless, but alas mankind's are not,The rich for the rich and the poor for the poor, but cures cannot be bought, No gods, and damned few heroes, that's forbye the NHS,‘Cause the folks in power ‘til this very hour can't save us from this mess.

3. From royalty to poverty fate's finger moves on still,From Earls and Peers to profiteers, ignore this at your will,No gods, and damned few heroes, that's forbye the NHS,‘Cause the folks in power ‘til this very hour can't save us from this mess.

4. It's time to oust this ruling class, let the working man defeat them, For what good is your five a day, when there's nobody here to eat them. No gods, and damned few heroes, that's forbye the NHS,‘Cause the folks in power ‘til this very hour can't save us from this mess.

5. So beware the false diviner, give us comfort through the pain, May we live to see and hear the chimes of freedom flash again. No gods, and damned few heroes, that's forbye the NHS, ‘Cause the folks in power ‘til this very hour can't save us from this mess.
