How Many Times? Poem by Dev Robinson

How Many Times?

Rating: 5.0

How many times are you going to hurt her?
She cries all the time
And her leaving him is not on her mind
With you she stays; And you will slap her if you don't have your way
How many times will you beat her and black her eyes?
She cries every night
While you're out creeping... She's at home with your children while they are sleeping
She claims things are good at home
But the truth is she is all alone
How many times will you lie to her?
As you watch her eyes fill up with tears; her life has been miserable for the last 5 years
He's out sexing all these women with ease; oblivious to the fact he has a life threatening disease
Now she's sick and doent know why
She has HIV too, and shewill lose her life

I hope this isnt firsthand. I felt the frusteration and anger. They hit you once, theyll do it again

dev- I can feel your frustration while you were writing this. Your helplessness and care for whoever this woman is practically dripping off the page. Good write my friend. constructive feedback: the ending was strong but abrupt in a bad way, try to ease into it a bit more and if you decide to do some rhymes you should try to rhyme the entire way to make the poem smooth.
