How Was The Constitution Written? Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

How had they kept before them the sample copies
Of the constitutions of some countries,
Their charters and laws written or unwritten
Aligning and assembling from the discussions
Held in the Constituent Assembly
With the draft and re-draft of resolutions
To be passed as laws and clauses given?

Had we been we would have the drafting,
How did they draft and re-draft,
With revisions and omissions and corrections,
Writings and re-writings,
Had we the copies of their notes and jottings,
We would have the making of the constitution and the charter
But these need to be amended if necessary.
