Howl Poem by Jeffrey Stultz

Howl

A keening cry,
fills up the night;
the hollow howling
of a hungry heart.
Fears threatens like
wolves in the dark,
circling unseen,
full of menace.
This siren song,
a dreadful strain;
consumes my strength,
and afflicts my brain.
What dire destiny awaits,
what savage snarling end;
a fevered mind deliberates,
what a feral cry portends.
