Human Nature Poem by Christopher Wingate

Human Nature

My skin is the earth,
Hardened from abuse.

My lips are the wind,
Words breezing past all.

My mind is water,
Vast and transparent.

My eyes are lightning,
Ripping through your clouds.

My heart is the ice,
Frozen yet fragile.

My soul is the flame,
Reckless, consuming.

Body of nature,
I'm separate but whole.
