If humans are so big and strong,
why do our buildings crumble?
If humans are sly and quick,
why do we often stumble?
Our buildings are nothing but tiny toys,
to the Earth's all so powerful forces.
There is nothing that lasts for long,
not roads nor cars or the crosses.
Humans are just a pitiful race,
we're small and weak and frail,
the mightiest of all our works,
start with great hope but we often fail.
We cannot understand ourselves,
forget the thoughts of others.
We kill and maim and murder those,
we ought to treat as our brothers.
If humans are so big and strong,
why do we we on our path tumble
And why does our most mighty shout,
often sound softer than a mumble?

We, humans, love to think that we are mighty whereas the truth is a lot different.. Thanks for sharing Subhashini.. A well written poem..
We are a barely evolved animal and don't even try to control the instincts that drive us. Thanks for sharing, Subhashini
