Humanity Has To Lose Out To Greed Poem by Francis Duggan

Humanity Has To Lose Out To Greed

Rating: 5.0

The hungry vultures circling in the sky
Above the stricken beast they slowly fly
They will squabble for his carcass when he die
And the strongest bird the first feed will enjoy.

Reminds me of what's happening in Iraq
The Iraqi army wilt under the attack
Of a better equipped and a far greater power
For them there may not be a glorious hour.

And the U.S. Multinationals waiting for Iraq to fall
And in years from now perhaps they will recall
How out of re-building Iraq vast fortunes they were paid
And millions in profit for themselves they made.

Bush, Blair and Howard say the Iraqi people we'll liberate
But first some havoc we have to create
And Iraqi cities we have to destroy
And civilians in every conflict die.

And the large Multinational companies already squabbling for their share
Who ever said in life that all is fair?
The more you have the more you want they say
In this instance at least 'twould seem that way.

By destroying their Country you destroy a peoples pride
And only the Iraqi people should decide
Who will re-build their Cities and who will run their State
But out of their misfortunes others great wealth will accumulate

The Multinational vultures are gathering nearby
Waiting for a once proud Country for to die
And the biggest always is the first to feed
And humanity has to lose out to greed.
