Humanoid Poem by Old Teenage Poems

Humanoid

Rating: 5.0

Today
there are more living people
than have ever died.

How do I
as one of those
billions
stand out?

Human society
So mortal
So lethal

So than why
was I born
To be a reinactment
of a play played a thousand
times
in times more revolutionary,
more kind than my own?

Human life
So mortal
So lethal

And we are all solitudes
in the Single Society
yet still only yearn
for someone to love with, live with
As fragile
as one
willing to change everything
to become
a two.

Human relations
So mortal
So lethal

Time scares me so
because it's all I have
yet it's nothing.
I can't feel it's presence
yet my existance
relies on it
Timely relative
relatively relative time...

Human existence
So mortal
So lethal

Instead we hope
to reach beyond our
boundries
Throughout other ages
of time
To stay in someone else's
mind
when we no longer
have our own.
But time will reach beyond
us humans
we can't stop it nor deny it
we will forever
be forgotten.

Only humans
So mortal
So lethal.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Marvin Brato 13 June 2008

The last stanza adequately substantiated the fact that we humans are finite beings! Well penned! A 10.
