Shallow beings we are
concerned hardly
with woes of others
for we tend to sink
in sufferings of our own
that prompt us always
to overlook anything else
beast of selfishness
roaming freely in
jungles of our minds
relish always preying on
our alert less ignorance
argue rightly every soul
need to satisfy self only first
yet humans we are
and wisdom we possess
anything thrown out
beyond our needs
could always suffice
the hunger of others
