Humming Bird Poem by shannon eason

Humming Bird

Where do you go during the winter?
Down south to stay warm instead of
Freezing to death without food and water
To drink. How do you know which flowers
To use? The smell of the sweet nectar
That comes out only during the spring and summer.

Humming bird you make the day
Seem lighter then it is but how?
It seem lighter I will never know.
You fly with such grace and love but
We never see your wings that the heavens gave you.

Fly away from one flower to another
Collecting the nectar that you love
So much. The swift movement that you
Make reply that you of all birds
Are the closest to god then any.
