Hurling Round Of Words Poem by Heath Gunn

Hurling Round Of Words

Rating: 5.0

Rapid deterioration and the hurling round of words,
the feelings of frustration to the fore.
Stunted conversation, chirping back and forth like birds,
dragging insults up, right from the floor.
The relationship it crumbles, as people's input flies,
sticking in opinions by the load.
Of just how to get even, how to make him squirm,
how to get reaction, how to goad.
Advice they think is helpful, only serves but to destroy,
any shred of feeling that was there.
As they sit and form opinions, based on one sided view,
think they've worked it out, he doesn't care.
Well they can pat themselves upon their backs, as chat comes to an end,
and no doubt bitter action bourne of spite.
Is all that will be left, until they advise otherwise,
but they'll be happy knowing they were right!

It's so easy to throw mean and useless word out there to hurt someone the way you know it will hurt. The challenge is, to throw kind loving words to make the feel the way you would want someone make you feel. Great concept Heath 10++

I read more than half your poems posted here, I think this one was the closest to my philosophy. Not to say that I did not enjoy the shoeless thousand mile walk, or any of the other wonderful images you've projected in your lines.
