I am...

I am shades of winter
Colors of fall
Voices of spring time
And flowers of June

I am shades of violet
Children of fog
Sister of the fallen
Mother of calm

I am a wave in a raging sea
Or a cloud in a deep blue sky
I am music on the earth
And a tree in the ground

I am a flower growing from a patch of snow
I am a bird who forgot to migrate
I am a book with well turned pages
I am a child laughing at nothing

I am a comet or a shooting star
I am a light in the dark
I am Saturn or the moon
I am out of this world

I am the embodiment of love and joy
I am a dancer on the stage of life
I am a ray of sun on a cloudy day
I am.

I

I AM not One who much or oft delight
To season my fireside with personal talk.--
Of friends, who live within an easy walk,
Or neighbours, daily, weekly, in my sight:
