I Am A Being- To R. Descartes And You, My Conscious Fellow Beings Poem by Gordon Tseng

I Am A Being- To R. Descartes And You, My Conscious Fellow Beings

I am a Being when I start to think.
I am a Being no universe can sink.
I am a Being wherever I was born.
I am a Being in whatever form.
We are Beings wherever we were born.
We are Beings in whatever form.

I am a Being, black or white, yellow or brown.
I am a Being, on the same and equal reason ground.
I am a Being, thrown in the dark, fumbling around.
I am a Being, in the conscious journey, no physical bound.
We are Beings wherever we were born.
We are Beings in whatever form.

At the limit of human intellect, he stood shivering on the brink.
Is there anything absolutely certain that can make skepticism sink?
Without any possibility of doubts, it's sure that I am because I think.
Between knowledge and reason, he found the unbreakable link.
So, all are Beings, black or white, yellow or brown.
All are Beings, on the same and equal reason ground.
All are Beings, thrown in the dark, fumbling around.
All are Beings, in the conscious journey, no physical bound.

I am a Being when I start to think.
I am a Being no universe can sink.
I am a Being wherever I was born.
I am a Being in whatever form.
We are Beings wherever we were born.
We are Beings in whatever form.

Of course you know that Descartes was famous for saying: I think, therefore I am. Well, did you ever hear how Descartes met his end? A friend of his came up to him one day and asked, Say, Old Chap, do you think I'm good looking? Descartes replied: I think not. and POOF! he disappeared just like that!
