I Am A Pearl Poem by Shivani Jain

I Am A Pearl

Rating: 5.0

I am a pearl in the shell
On the beach
Just floated out of water
Or thrown out of it
Thousands of people trod on me
Never make a note of what might be underneath
They move on and on and on
And I am buried deeper and deeper into the grave
They don't see the pain the hurt inside
The beauty or the treasure inside
So that pearl never came out
For the shell was too rigid and opaque

This is your welcome poem, Shivani. I find it wonderful and very emotional. It reminds me of one of my own Hindi poem but yours is extraordinary. People have to have a special power to locate pearl bearing shells which most of them don't have. The same rule applies to knowledge.
