it is dark
outside and much
colder than
before

i am the only
one
in a room with
a single light

the blinds show
vertical lights
to the other
room

it is darker
tonight
and i am alone again
with a poem
in my head

and this i write
with a light heart

a steady light
in this dark sleepy
town

others already
slept
and must have
already dreamed
what i
still missed.

if you are a black
bird migrating
away from this cold
i am a speck
of light
in this deep
dark forest
of wilderness....
