I Am An Engineer-Writer-Poet-Artist Trying To Make A Comeback

I am an engineer-writer-poet-artist trying to make a comeback
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
I, once again, long for a tempestuous affair with engineering and engineers
I could do design and handling of equipment
And calculate what it takes,
The coefficient of linear expansion and coefficient of radial expansion;

OR I could settle for a poetic overview
Of man and his possessions
Both muscular and material
For a man has a poetical relationship with his masculinity;

This leads me into poetry and its varied forms
I am going to look at the five romantic age poets and
Connote a few lines with the characteristics of Canada/PM Justin Trudeau
For Canada has romance in its being;

Choosing from William Wordsworth's Daffodils, I am including these two lines
Which best describe the mental frame of your average Canadian during a pleasant spring or summer or autumn day or a warm winter day:
"I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought";

Choosing from John Keats' Ode to Psyche, I am including three excerpts:
"O Goddess! hear these tuneless numbers, wrung
By sweet enforcement and remembrance dear,
And pardon that thy secrets should be sung
Even into thine own soft-conched ear"
Does this, dear reader, mean that we Canadians are nudged into remembering
Merely good memories and share the secrets of our blessed lives with the Goddess of Soul - Psyche, herself?
And to the other two excerpts from the same poem, I shall draw your attention,
"Nor virgin-choir to make delicious moan
Upon the midnight hours; "
Isn't this simply beautiful to liken the sexual cry with abandon
To the above metaphor
AND the other excerpt is:
"And in the midst of this wide quietness
A rosy sanctuary will I dress
With the wreath'd trellis of a working brain"
I interpreted this as the male poet's plea to a beautiful woman
With the "complexion of apples and roses"
And surely, this is a Freudian slip for the woman's sexual organ
And he would like to dress this with his decorated working brain;

And for Percy B. Shelley, I shall choose a complete poem, Love's Philosophy
For the poem is short and I cannot choose:
"The fountains mingle with the river
And the rivers with the ocean,
The winds of heaven mix for ever
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
In one spirit meet and mingle.
Why not I with thine? —

See the mountains kiss high heaven
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister-flower would be forgiven
If it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth
And the moonbeams kiss the sea:
What is all this sweet work worth
If thou kiss not me? "
And PM Justin Trudeau, please read lines 6 and lines 11 and 12 carefully
For they are applicable to me
As are the last two lines
For what is all this sweet work worth if thou not kiss me with the kiss of success and earnings;

Choosing from Lord Gordon Byron's poem, The First Kiss of Love,
I shall include the excerpt:
1. "If Apollo should e'er his assistance refuse,
2. Or the Nine be disposed from your service to rove,
3. Invoke them no more, bid adieu to the muse,
4. And try the effect of the first kiss of love."
Such beautiful lines which I shall allow you to enjoy, dear reader,
If the poet or writer or artist in me takes a backseat
As does the engineer in me, then I should take the route of the nth kiss of love for a little while
But I wish to have Apollo and the nine muses AND the God of Intellect always with me
And this should be true of all Canadians aspiring for fame and fortune;
Choosing from Samuel T. Colerdige's poem, Work without Hope,
And hoping that my maxim in life, Work with Hope, shall bear fruit,
These two last lines in the poem, "Work without Hope draws nectar in a sieve,
And Hope without an object cannot live"
I say that there is no nectar if there is no hope
For every Canadian in our true north, strong and free
And hope needs projects and endeavours and efforts
For otherwise it is a futile quest,
This search for money for all Canadians.
