I Am Not Poem by Rik Bertrand

I Am Not

I'm not here to be a Hero, to play an actors role.

I'm not here to be what others want me to be.

I'm not here to selll you tickets or to sell out my soul.

I'm here for what is right, and to watch the starry night.

I'm not here to get rich and leave my friends behind

I'm not her to drive fast cars, and party at all the bars.

I'm not here to watch you gloat, or even to see you high.

I'm here for piece of mind, and to watch the starry night.

Life can be wonderous if you get out from behind the mask.

Life can fill your heart with love, and make emotions flow.

Life can be oh, so much more, if you are only yourself,

dont let life pass you by, by being what your not.

Your not here to impress me, or make me what i'm not.

Your not here to catch me, yet you will never let me fall.

Your not here to take, what i will willingly give to you.

You are here to love, to live, whether me or someone else.

I do not say these words to win you my heart

I do not speak and expect you to listen

but I hope that you hear these words,

in hopes that i will be forgiven

I will not step down to step up to love.

God will not hear my prayers, as he looks from above

I am not a religous man, but I am not without the lord

I am not who you think I am, but I within your accord.

I am here to watch the starrry starry night,

bright light, bright light oh such a starry night.
