I Am One Poem by G J Salgado

I Am One

I didn't blame them for blaming me for everything
I've grown to get used to it along the years
It was my own fault for ever allowing myself to be close to anyone
They were right to place blame upon me
I was meant to be alone in this world
I was wrong for believing that I could be more or anything better than what I am
It wasn't their fault for being human
It was my fault for being the animal
The human within them will never understand the animal that lives within me
I was born this way and for the very first time I've realized the intent and true meaning of my existence
I didn't get here all by myself
And I was at fault for believing that you would be different from the rest of them
