I Am Right Here Poem by Phil Major

I Am Right Here

I know you think I left you
That I flew away too fast
With no time for you to say goodbye
My presence became your past

You may have lots of words you didn’t say
Now wishing I was near
I hear your heart whispering to me
Because I am right here

I am alive in all the tears you shed
You’ll feel me in the rain
I am the waves that kiss the sandy beach
I’ll be the healer of your pain

I am the wind that blows the falling leaves
And lifts butterflies into flight
I am the sun that warms your skin
I am the stars guiding you at night

I will always be your father
I will forever calm your fears
Close your eyes, I am holding you
Because I am right here

I will always be your bother
You’ll feel my laughter in your soul
Remember me and I shall never die
Please help each other fill that hole

Mom and Dad please know I loved you
You helped me stand up tall
Thru my life you always held my hand
Picked me up every time I’d fall

When it comes time to visit me
Let go of all your fears
I will be waiting with open arms
Yes….I am right here
