I Am Winter Poem by Ima Ryma

I Am Winter

I am called Winter and I find
My tendency for lots of greed
To take most time with humankind,
The longer the better indeed!
I love to chase Autumn away,
And announce to all that I'm here,
With a frigid and stormy day.
Into shelters folks disappear.
And then when it is time for Spring,
I do oft refuse to let go,
Giving surprise bad weathering,
Maybe a June blizzard of snow.

Some day the sun will cease to shine,
Then all Earth all year will be mine.
