I Beheld Him Poem by Gary James Smith

I Beheld Him

Rating: 5.0

I BEHELD HIM

I beheld Him in His glory
On that Resurrection Day
His linen clothes were neatly piled
The stone was rolled away.

The Victor of Creation
For all the world to see
Waiting for Mary to behold Him
No less than Diety.

The Maker of the heart of man
Knows every thought within
Knows its wicked nature
Was desparate to sin.

He designed the plan in heaven
His purpose was not lost
But fulfilled at Calvary
By dying on the cross.

His blood sufficient for the price
Of sin debt that we owed
Died He once for every man
Died for friend and foe.

What deliverance that He wrought
By becoming sin for us
Mercy great! Abundant! Free!
What glory in the cross.

As ransomed souls we have a song
A song of a soul set free
Redemption through His saving blood
We see, we finally see.

I beheld Him in His glory
On that Resurrection Day
His linen clothes were neatly piled
The stone was rolled away.
