I Can’t Be The Only One Poem by MarieLove Brevil

I Can’t Be The Only One

Rating: 5.0

In the pursuit of happiness
How do we have to fight?
In the pursuit of forgiveness
When will we see the light?
We wake every single day
Wishing, hoping to be comfortable
But once they swing our way
All we have left is, God is able
Every day we fight to be consistent
We want to be wise and act sage
We can’t stop, for the pain is reminiscent
It drives us insane we don’t want to be in rage
What is that life we’re living?
Why do they speak about us so unkindly?
If it weren’t for them we’d never be fighting
Nevertheless the pain seems to last eternally

You know I’m tired of feeling mutilated
Persecuted, oppressed, enslaved and segregated
I know I’m not the only one I feel isolated
When shall we rise at last and be congregated
I must be on the lookout and that’s everyday
Looking, seeing, hoping, and praying for a better way
Let’s gather our energy to fight in spirit and to pray
To make a special call more than we have a chance before we lay.
