I can’t promise
I won’t ever make you mad
I can’t promise
There won’t be times when you will feel sad

I can’t promise
That you won’t feel hurt nor feel stress
Like I can’t promise
That I am perfect, when at times I am a mess

I can’t promise
That our life will be so easy
I can’t promise
That everything you do will please me

I can’t promise
That I will always make you smile
Like I can’t promise
I won’t ever stop loving my child

But through it all
After all of the things that I can’t promise
Love is still here
Even though,
I still can’t promise…
