I Cannot Poem by Sophia White

I Cannot

Rating: 4.0

I cannot stay to wear the chains.
I cannot keep my life in death!
I cannot lock my dreams away,
Not for pain, not for pain.

I cannot ignore a Summons.
I cannot dropp my vision.
I cannot change direction.
Not for tears, not for tears.

I cannot turn my ship around.
(As small a ship it be.)
I cannot lose sight of the goal!
Not for sighs, not for sighs.

I cannot chop a sapling down.
I cannot lie down on the ground.
I cannot give up without a sound.
Not for loss, not for loss.

I cannot plug the leaping spring.
I cannot stop for anything.
I am Called, Called to sing.
Not for you, if this is you.

I cannot.

This is amazing. You are very accomplished already, though your biography states you are in high school. The repetition is very effective. Keep writing.
