I Complained Today Poem by Daniel Beaird

I Complained Today

Rating: 5.0

I complained today that I had no job and then I saw a blind man being led by a dog
I complained today that there was nothing to eat and then I saw a man starving on the street
I complained today that my life was unfair and then I remembered when my Mom had no hair
I complained today that I didn't see my kids enough then I heard about a Father being deployed for 10 months
I complained today that my life was too difficult and then I watched a story about a baby on life support
I complained today that I wasn't wealthy and then I remembered that I am still healthy
I complained today that I was lonely and then the phone rang and it was my daughter calling me
I complained, I complained, I complained...
Then I remembered,
That no matter how alone or desperate I have felt
There has always been someone listening to me cry as I knelt
And I thought of him crying with me like a Father would do
I thought about all the times he was there to help get me through
I stopped complaining and thanked God for all my blessings...
