I Count Six Colours Poem by Midnight Clarity

I Count Six Colours

I can count six colours in the sky
which means there must
be more
my human eye cannot discern
the subtle soft gradations
of the Lady's palette
human hand
cannot match
the strokes
of angelwing
paintbrushes
that spread the
magic wide
upon the canvas

I feel better when I see the dawn
it is a firm beginning
not helter skelter
falling into morning fully blown
a rose with petals all awry…
the growing light
kaleidoscopic colours
the subtle shifts and changes
sweep insubstantial fingers
across my heartstrings
adding my lifesong to
the others
already building up
the day’s harmonies...
