I'D Buy Them All Poem by Gary Revel

I'D Buy Them All

I'd buy that star up in the sky for you, if I could.
But what good would that do?
You couldn't pluck it out of the sky and put it in your pocket.
You couldn't frame it and put it on the wall.

I'd buy that raindrop falling through the clouds for you.
But you'd never find it once it landed.
It would become, like the others, a drop in a bucket.

I'd buy that lightning flash for you.
It's brilliant, dynamic, and panoramic but gone before you blink your eye.

These are like the many things in life that can't be bought.
They are marvelous, wonderful things; powerful feelings and places where only the heart can rest, like love and in love.
You may try to buy them but will find that time and chance happens to all without a price or a deed of sale.

I'd buy them all for you, right now, if I could.
God will give them all to you, at no cost. He's already paid the price.
