I dare you...write a poem about this
As they wait with raised fist
A true tale of misery and pain
Price gouging sorrow is insane
Women and children in distress
While too slow decisions manifest
Politically correct has no place
Some believe it's all about race
The answer escapes my racked brain
It doesn't matter as things remain
You have your opinion and I have mine
I see shame, others only see crime
Homeland Security, where are you now
Watching your own die, I wonder how
In foreign lands thrusting power
Losing time at home with each hour
Conserve energy, give more, take less
Still thousands die in their own mess
I'm a human being first, American as well
I depise the direction of this tale
I dare you to write a poem about this
Will you sugar-coat it and be remise
Not mention the truth of the faces
While fibers of humanity leave no traces
I dared, and did, and I accept the wrath.
