I Don'T See Anything! Poem by Michael "P.J." Kelly

It's big, it's round, it's floating up high
it came for a visit, no one knows why
and what other-wordly news it brings
a mystery, I don't see anything!
People picked up for close-hand study
in some interstellar hands, they're putty,
they come back home and dream of their trip
of what they saw on that mysterious ship
with markings apparent on their bellies and hips
and the strangest stories that come from their lips. They might even groan that their ears still ring,
while me . . . ? I don't see anything! So if you should see a curious shape
float through the sky while you helplessly gape
and if you should find that your ears still ring,
forget it, I don't see anything!
