I Don't Want To Know Anymore/ The Distant Future Is Too Distant

I don't want to know anymore
The distant future is too distant
And it seems too hopeless
And what there is to hope for really?
Some island of intelligence popping up
For its own strange time of life and death?

Nothing will connect us to the whole, it seems
And we are all going to be so lost-

Can't God please give us a different picture
A different reality
Something real to hope for?
Some dream of redemption based
On what we really know
About this vast disturbing universe?
