I Don'T Want To Wake You Poem by Diana van den Berg

I Don'T Want To Wake You

This first grassroots day
Of an earth-sweet year
I watch you as you slumber,
There across the seas,
And, in dragonfly-touch loving,
So as not to wake you,
I stroke your cheek, finger-tip caring,
And a smile of cat-purr contentment
Spreads across your sleeping face
And snuggles again into my waiting breast.

Soft, smooth and touchy too!
