I Dont Care Poem by Nikhil Santhosh

I Dont Care

i dont care
about anything else
but this cigarette
in my mouth....

the bright red glow,
of my death
and smokes i blow,
from my heart...

i puffs away
the pains of the day..
i puffs away
the strain of the day..

and in the smokes
i shall rise..
free and strong
and ever so wise...

i dont care
about anything else
but this cigarette
in my mouth....

burning down
what i had done
burning down
what have to be done...

all alone in this
rainy earth...
i blows away
rings of mirth...

i dont care the stares
and scoffs..
healing the scars
are these magical puffs...

i may stop to
catch my breath...
but i dont need
a blanket's warmth..

for this friend
who burns for me...
he is my guide
to the dark of night..

and when the smoke
clears in skies...
and when the ashes
spreads in breeze...

if my puffs
wont linger anymore
if my matches
wont light anymore

you sha'nt blame
my comrade in arm...
for he is the one
who kept me warm...

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
i have never smoken in my life... but the eyes of men enjoying their smokes made me wonder what they were thinking... sucking on to their death as if its their manna from heaven....
