I Dreamt About You Poem by Susan Thomas

I Dreamt About You

I dreamed about you again last night,
Same sad dream since I lost the fight.
I dreamed when I lost you, I got you all back,
And I couldn't have been happier to help you unpack.

It's been five years since they took you away,
And I think about you every single day.
I cry at night when I go to sleep,
Because my parental rights I could not keep.

I'm so sorry I failed you as your mother,
Now you're adopted by another.
It hurt so much to watch you all go,
I just want you all back more then you know.

Now I'm trying to learn to live with the pain,
But sometimes I feel like I'm going insane.
I hope, when you're older, you'll come looking for me,
Just know that I will love you for all eternity.

Another beautiful but sad heartfelt write on the loss of a Mother being separated from her children. We all make mistakes in our lives and we all deserve forgiveness. As children grow they learn these little pieces of wisdom and will learn that their birth Mother is always going to be their Mother and nothing or no one can take that fact away.
