I found a key,
To turn a lock,
That held a heart,
Secure,
At first I hesitated,
Held back,
Till,
I was sure.
I turned the key,
A little bit,
It felt a little,
Slack,
A little scared,
The heart within,
Could never,
Love me back.
The key was with me,
For a while,
Held it time, and,
Time again,
And the more,
That I held on to it,
The more it caused,
Me pain.
I held the key,
Within my hand,
And thought,
It’s now or never,
I realised,
The heart within,
Belonged to me,
Forever.
