I HAD A PIECE OF HEAVEN

I lost my heart when I lost you
and now I'm lonely
and feelin' blue.
There's no one to hold me, not like you
and now that we're over,
now that we're through
I'm so far from heaven.
There's no place for me.
I'm so far from heaven
and where I want to be.

'Cause I had a piece of heaven
and the stars were in my eyes.
Now that little piece of heaven
I could never recognize.
For I lost my heart
when I lost you
and now I'm feelin' lonely
and feelin' blue.
'Cause that little piece of heaven
has always been you.

You know you hurt me on the day you left
and now that I'm alone
and we are through
there's no one to tell me, no one like you
that things will get better
so what can I do?
I'm so far from heaven and everything I see
is so far from heaven
and where I want to be.

'Cause I had a piece of heaven
and the stars were in my eyes.
Now that little piece of heaven
I could never recognize.
For I lost my heart
when I lost you
and now I'm so lonely
and feelin' blue.
'Cause that little piece of heaven
has always been you.
